January 7 – We Hope in God

Hi there and welcome to Reedy’s Month in Prayer. If you are these for first time it’s great to have you with us. For the first week we prayed our way through Reedy’s Value of We Seek. For the next few days, we will pray through Reedy’s value of We Hope. Paul told Timothy, “Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God” (1 Timothy 6:17 NIV). For believers in Jesus, we have such a strong theology of hope because it’s based in God. God who created our universe, that parted the waters, who caused fire to come down from heaven and consumed evilness, that showed mercy to the unfaithful, and who loved us so much that He sent Jesus for our forgiveness is The God in whom we have hope – hope that He performs healings and miracles, and grants forgiveness and salvation, who will one day create a new heaven and earth. Let’s pray to our God of Hope, particularly as we navigate our way through new government rules in response to the Pandemic and the rising tensions in the world.
