Welcome to the third day of Reedy’s Month in Prayer. Currently we are looking and praying our way through Reedy’s value of “We Seek”. King David has written, “My heart says of you, "Seek his face!" Your face, LORD, I will seek” (Psalms 27:8 NIV). What does David mean by seek God’s face? When I was 13 years old, I was badly electrocuted resulting in third degree burns on my arm and fingers. After coming home from the emergency department of the Royal North Shore Hospital I went to bed, but I couldn’t sleep. The flashbacks kept coming. A little later Dad came in and lied on my bed facing me until I feel asleep. My father’s presence and love were my security. Seeking God’s face desires to be in our Father’s presence. Being in His presence gives us peace of who we are in Christ Jesus – that we are forgiven and restored; it gives us comfort that God is in control of our lives; and He presence gives us security that no one – not even the devil – can snatch us away. Let’s seek our Heavenly Father’s presence. Please pray.
