Hi everyone. Thanks for your ongoing prayers. It’s so appreciated! Here’s another quote on prayer; this time from holocaust survivor Corrie ten Boom: “Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire?" It certainly got me thinking – do I view prayer as a necessity in my life or just for emergencies? Today we are moving onto our next value at Reedy which is “We Honour”. Honouring is an important biblical value and at Reedy we first honour Jesus Christ. Revelation 5:12 says, “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" (Revelation 5:12 NIV). Because of Christ’s incredible sacrifice on the cross for all of humanity, He is worthy to receive our honour and glory and praise. The word honor means to “respect” and to “esteem at the highest level!” By honouring Jesus, we deeply value and respect Him and elevate Him to His place of influence – seated at the right hand of God. He is worthy of all honour. Let’s praise Him now because He deserves it! Pray also for our Sunday Services and our worship teams (and that God will bless us will more talented people to serve in this area).

Hello and thanks for joining with many others in Reedy’s Month of Prayer. Over the past two days we have been praying about learning from God’s Word and each other. Today it’s about learning from our mistakes. Proverbs 28:13 says, “People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy” (Proverbs 28:13 NLT). Henry Ford once said, “The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing”. We make mistakes, some of which were sinful. Our culture ought to be confessing to God (and maybe to others) these mistakes, learn from them, and move on. Let’s pray for a spirit of humility to confess our sins and learn from them.

Welcome back and thanks again for joining with us in praying through this month of prayer. “We Learn” is a value at Reedy and yesterday we prayed that we have a desire to learn from God’s Word. We also learn from each other. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 says, “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing” (1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV). I’ve received much encouragement over the years from people that I have learnt from. God brings people in our lives that we all can learnt from. Having a culture of learning enables a church to grow in faith and wisdom. Let’s pray that God will bring into our lives people that we can learn from and for a wiliness to learn.
